Principal’s Message

Dear students, parents, colleagues and members of the Riverdale community,

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year.

I’m honoured to have been chosen to lead Riverdale High School, a place where learning is paramount and community can thrive.  Thank you to all members of the Riverdale staff, students, parents and community for the warm welcome.

I have large shoes to fill.  Riverdale has a history of excellent administrators, and Mr. Roger Rampersad was no exception.  He will be missed by students, staff, parents and the community, and I would like to thank him for his invaluable assistance with the transition.  Due in part to his efforts, the school is well positioned to meet the needs and challenges of today’s learner, with solid groundwork on which to build for the future.  I wish him all the best in his new role as Director of PACC Adult Education Centre.  They are lucky to have him.

I feel quite privileged to once again be working with my friend and colleague Ms. Lori McKergow, Riverdale’s Vice-Principal.  Ms. McKergow and I made a dynamic team while I was Principal at St. Charles and she was a leader amongst teachers.  I feel very confident that together we will be able to further strengthen Riverdale’s excellent programmes and academics, find areas for growth and discover innovative solutions to meet the needs of tomorrow’s graduates.

I wish you all a happy and successful school year, and look forward to getting to know this impressive community of learners and educators better.
